The second two qualities that diamond buyers focus on when evaluating diamonds are Cut and Clarity, both of which can be difficult for the average person to properly estimate. The “cut” of a diamond refers to the design of the diamond and how well said rock reflects light. Therefore, the best cut diamond are also the brightest diamonds. Finally, the clarity of a diamond refers to the presence of internal inclusions and external blemishes, both of which lower the quality of a diamond. However, it’s difficult for one to spot these without both a decent microscope and the training of a diamond buyer.

Finally, if selling diamond jewelry, one should check the fit of the diamond in the metal. The better the fit, the more value the jewelry possesses.
